Following the successful "Not in my City" campaign, which has seen violence levels drop in the city, the Burglary campaign will remind residents not to advertise their valuables to thieves.
As an extension of the successful "Not in my City" campaign, which has seen violence levels drop in the city since it was launched in March, the Burglary campaign will remind residents not to advertise their valuables to thieves. The Community Safety Team will be working with West Midlands Police and other partners as they step up their blitz on burglars during the darker and colder nights. Cabinet member for Corporate and Neighbourhood Services, Cllr Phil Townshend said, "leaving your house in total darkness is a sign that perhaps no-one is at home and an invitation to burglars. Burglars look for easy opportunities; they don't want to run the risk of a confrontation so simply leaving a low power light on to give the impression someone's at home is often enough to deter them."
