About us

The Coventry Community Safety Partnership is a body created by law to bring together local agencies, businesses and residents to cut crime and address substance misuse.

In essence, the Community Safety Partnership helps co-ordinate the resources, powers and services of local agencies, businesses and residents with the ultimate aim of making Coventry a safer place.

The work of the partnership is guided by a three-year strategy which sets out our priorities and vision. Each year we produce an annual report, which can be downloaded from this page.

The work of the partnership is split into two broad areas:

Operational co-ordination - achieved through:

  • a network of 15 Safer Neighbourhood Groups covering all Coventry where local officers from a range of services share information about incidents and plan action to address. These groups meet monthly and includes representation from local councillors and members of the Community Empowerment Network.
  • a monthly citywide partnership tasking meeting which enables all agencies to deploy staff and other resources into current crime or anti social behaviour hotspots
  • a monthly seasonal planning meeting to coordinate intensive activity

Strategic co-ordination - achieved through a network of regular meetings looking at:

  • managing local offending behaviour such as ASB and providing interventions to address underlying causes
  • managing the most prolific offenders
  • organising drug and alcohol treatment
  • co-ordinating services addressing domestic violence
  • comissioning drug and alcohol services
  • co-ordinating work to reduce crimes that have some of the biggest impact on residents like burglary, car crime and violent crime

An overseeing responsible group - the Community Safety Partnership - meets bi-monthly. The minutes from recent CCSP meetings can be downloaded from this page.
