Our main activities
The work of the Community Safety Partnership is directed by a three year plan which sets out broad objectives and an annual strategic assessment which gives an up-to-date review of community safety issues in the city. Our three-year plan outlines the following priorities:
Reducing crime, fear of crime, anti social behaviour and reoffending:
Offenders
Managing offenders to prevent them from committing crime and anti social behaviour and helping to address any underlying problems like homelessness, drug misuse or poor parenting is central to making Coventry safer in the immediate and longer-term.
Reducing the harm caused by illegal drugs and alcohol
Illegal drugs and alcohol damages the quality of life in affected neighbourhoods by causing crime and nuisance and is a major risk to individual's health.
Creating cleaner, greener and safer public places
A range of work is underway to improve the physical environment in public places, including addressing grafitti, flytipping and vandalism.
In addition, two further priorities cut across all the work of the partnership:
- Encouraging community cohesion and empowerment
- Work with children and young people
