Alcohol Awareness Week

18 - 24 October 2010

This year alcohol awareness week, 18 – 24 October, will tackle parents drinking and how it not only affects your health but also the people around you.

A mobile health unit will be out and about in Coventry from 20 – 22 October offering all sorts of information about safe drinking including; a quick questionnaire about your drinking levels and private consultations with Swanswell, Coventry's local alcohol service.

There will be a free BMI/weight check as alcohol is high in calories so can easily increase that waist line; the average bottle of wine contains 600 calories alone, equivalent to four doughnuts.

DVDs highlighting the risks of home drinking and the effects it has on others will also be handed out over the three days.

If you would like to talk to someone about your drinking or your parent/carers drinking please visit Alcohol Advice for a list of services in Coventry.
