ASB Minimum Standards

Tackling Anti-Social behaviour is a priority for us and we aim to reduce residents' perceptions of Anti-Social Behaviour year on year. Everyone has a right to live without fear of Anti-Social behaviour. To view the minimum standards for Anti-Social behaviour please see ASB Minimum Standards.

Not in My City: new anti-violence campaign launched across Coventry

Overall crime in Coventry continues to fall and this contributes to the city being a great place for people to live, visit and invest. Figures continue to show that people feel confident about the way the police, local authority and other agencies work together to reduce anti-social behaviour. Total recorded crime has reduced by 8.8% over the last 12 months and 23.4% over the last 3 years. However, violent crime is still a priority for the Community Safety Partnership and this behaviour in public places and in households is still too high, accounting for a quarter of ALL crime in the City. Much of this behaviour, including aggression, assault and physical injuries is alcohol fuelled and will no longer be tolerated. For more details, see the latest news release.

New Guide for Off-Licencees

Off-Licensees are encouraged to download this guide to retailing alcohol responsibly. Under-age sales of alcohol are a key issue for us in relation to reducing anti-social behaviour, let alone the adverse health effects of under-age drinking. In order to help off-licences and supermarkets ensure that young people do not manage to buy alcohol the Licensing Team at Coventry City Council have worked with the responsible authorities - West Midlands Police, Trading Standards, Safeguarding Children, Health & Safety, Environmental Protection and West Midlands Fire Service - to produce a really useful guide.
