About Us

The Coventry Community Safety Partnership is a body created by law to bring together local agencies, businesses and residents to cut crime and address substance misuse.

In essence, the Community Safety Partnership helps co-ordinate the resources, powers and services of local agencies, businesses and residents with the ultimate aim of making Coventry a safer place.

The work of the partnership is guided by a three-year strategy which sets out our priorities and vision. Each year we produce an annual report, which can be downloaded from this page.

The work of the partnership is split into two broad areas:

Operational co-ordination - achieved through:

  • a network of 20 Safer Neighbourhood Groups covering all Coventry where local officers from a range of services share information about incidents, victims and offenders and plan action. These groups meet monthly and includes representation from local councillors and members of the Community Empowerment Network.
  • a fortnightly citywide partnership tasking meeting called AIMs (Active Intelligence Mapping) which enables all agencies to deploy staff and other resources into current crime or anti social behaviour hotspots

Strategic co-ordination - achieved through a network of regular meetings looking at:

  • managing the most prolific offenders
  • organising drug and alcohol treatment
  • co-ordinating services addressing domestic violence
  • organising young people's drug services
  • co-ordinating activity to address anti social behaviour and its underlying causes
  • co-ordinating work to cut crimes that have some of the biggest impact on residents like burglary, car crime and violent crime

An overseeing responsible group - the Community Safety Partnership - meets bi-monthly. The minutes from recent CCSP meetings can be downloaded from this page.
